Armor Rapista, from songwriting to music production

Armor Rapista is an independent songwriter and recording musician who shifted to making music for films and various multimedia projects. He has several self produced albums in the past, but when he migrated to Manila in 2009, he begin creating music for student and independent films and various stock music websites. He is currently based in Sta. Maria, Bulacan where he set up Armoracket Studio, his home recording studio and musical playground.

Armor Rapista has a diverse musical influence and he can create music from folk, orchestral and electronica while combining Philippine tribal instruments and unqiue sound sources on these genres as his personal taste.  This innovative way of music making always sparks an interest on his clients and thereby he continues making music for award winning indie films.

Aside from musical scoring, Armor Rapista promotes Philippine tribal music by incorporating ethnic instruments in his orginal song recordings and doing tribal music workshops on various parts of the Philippines.

With its 49 keys, 8 knobs and 8 buttons, i can play beats, control the parameters of my soft wares and play synths and pianos on the fly. All my projects pass thru this thing, indeed you can tell that this one has a soul.

Bamboo instruments

Bamboo xylophones,"gabbang" and tuned bamboo poles "tongatong", are my favorite sounds in combining with software instruments.

I traveled far on Southern Philippines to conduct music workshops and brought home this "Agung"(tribal gong). I had used it on my film projects including the live scoring of the silent film "The Brides Of Sulu"
